Raymetrics SA, in the framework of its collaboration with Greek Universities and Research Centers,has established a research competition, addressing postgraduate students or doctoral candidates of Greek Universities. The company offers a cash prize for the best research work done over the last year on atmospheric observation.
The winners of this year's competition, doctoral candidates Gertsi Fani and Siomos Nikolaos from Department of Physics of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTh).
The Award Ceremony was held on Saturday 15 September 2018 at the Raymetrics Pavilion during the 83rd Thessaloniki International Fair. The award was presented by the President of the company Mr. Nikolaos Kontos, in the presence of their supervising professor Dimitrios Balis.
The work of Mr Siomos is titled "Investigating the Quality of Modelled Aerosol Profiles Based on Combined Lidar and Sunphotometer Data" and published in the scientific journal Atmospheric Chemistry and Physics.
The work of Mrs. Gertzi Fani is titled "DOAS-based total ozone retrieval from Phaethon system" and published in the scientific journal Atmospheric Environment.
